about
This track is our participation in Biologica's Benefit compilation for political prisoners in Greece.
Biologica perceives D.I.Y. music as a response to the commercialisation of music production, which suppresses the creative process and promotes stereotypes of mass entertainment and star system schemes. Our actions try to raise awareness on this subject and promote self involvement and cooperation, that contribute to the local self-organized music identity, and more broadly to the D.I.Y. scene.
As a music collective we took the initiative to compose a compilation called NOISE OF DANGER, that consists of recently created songs, by domestic D.I.Y. bands. Although the idea of creating a compilation is not new, we felt that the time-frame had become more urgent now, as a need to continue our actions within the socio-political context of coronavirus. Due to the pandemic, concert activities (especially those with political characteristics) are in stalemate.
This consequently affects certain political goals and solidarity initiatives that are financially supported, through benefit concerts. Such initiatives, have almost suspended their activities, at the moment, and are in great need, due to the pandemic. For that reason, we decided to support the Solidarity fund for persecuted and imprisoned revolutionaries in Greece, and contribute any income that will rise from the distribution of this compilation.
Until we meet again, in concert spaces and squats ...
